Today I just want to tell you about some of the crafts I’ve been doing lately, little snippets of information about them and how to start them if you want to or were thinking about it. Hope you enjoy!
The fairly new craze of adult colouring is such a beautiful and fun one! I’ve been doing this for quite a while now (from around the end of June I think!) and it’s fair to say I’m well and truly obsessed! I have a range of books and magazines but my current favourite is Enchanted Forest: An Inky Quest and Colouring Book by Johanna Basford. It is stunning and I love doing it. I complete it with colouring pencils, occasionally watercolour paints (the paper is thicker than normal which means it’s perfect for watercolours) and a new set of colouring pens (a beautiful Christmas gift- 10 Staedtler Triplus Color pens). You can find these supplies from pretty much anywhere, from Tescos to Hobbycraft, and you can find colouring magazines (which I would recommend starting off with) in many supermarkets and newsagents and, of course, books from Amazon and Waterstones, WH Smiths, those kind of places. Overall, colouring is super relaxing, I love it so much and I’d recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing and fun craft just to do whenever you have time.
So this is a new thing that I’ve picked up pretty recently. So far I’ve really enjoying it but it’s really time consuming so I don’t do it very often. I do it so sporadically that I don’t think I can give much advice but the things I’ve used so far that I’d recommend if you want to start are alphabet rubber stamps, sharpies and paint for the backgrounds (having fun with the backgrounds have been my favourite thing about scrapbooking so far) and obviously, paper and photos. I’ve also loved journaling on a few pages to remind me of things I didn’t capture on camera. I’d recomend it if you want a hobby you can loose yourself in for hours and if you aren’t pressured for time this would be perfect.
This is something I want to touch on as I think I need to update you all about it. I started off blogging about mainly crochet almost two years ago now and since then my interests have changed. However I still felt pressured to keep up with it for the blog but then I posted about my other hobbies and I loved that so much! I went through a long period when I didn’t even pick up a hook and very recently I found my love for it again. The squares for the blanket are almost done and I’ll be updating you on that soon! To start, you need a crochet hook, some yarn and someone to teach you how to crochet or a book. I’d recomend it if you want a new hobby you can pick up whenever you want!
Hope you enjoyed this post, sorry it was a bit wordy! If you liked it please tell me and I’ll do more like this!
